R1 is a thick silicone mouthguard that's suitable for the beginners as well as those who have been working on their biomechanics for a while.
From my experience it helps:
✔️ Improve the symmetry
✔️ Straighten the teeth
✔️ Expand the jaws
✔️ Project the face forward
People often report significant improvement in the TMJ.
It's higher than R2 and R3 so it rubs on the gums which can cause irritation, pain or make it harder to wear it consistently. However, it still provides great results and this is the version I started with.
